The Healing Power of Whole Foods can help you:

  • improve your health and feel your finest!
  • prevent disease
  • discover tasty new foods (valuable if you have allergies)learn cooking techniques using hundreds of recipes
  • gain a clear understanding of whole foods and nutrition
  • incorporate whole foods into other eating programs
  • lose excess weight -- an additional benefit for many!

The revised second edition includes a clearer explanation of the Perfectly Whole Foods Diet (PWFD), making it much easier to follow. Now find a Personalized PWFD for those not responding to the Diet as most people do, more recipes (including additional gluten-free, wheat-free, and dairy-free), and a section of Perfectly Whole treats and desserts. Mostly Whole Foods suggestions and recipes are included for use after spending 6 months on the PWFD and for those wishing to simply move in the directions of whole foods without being as precise as the PWFD. This barely scratches the surface of how The Healing Power of Whole Foods Updated Second Edition is a very user-friendly, new book.

Whole foods are natural foods that have been minimally processed - the trace nutrients needed for metabolism have not been removed. Whole foods include fresh or frozen vegetables, whole grains, dried beans, fresh or frozen whole fruits, nuts and seeds, nonfat or low-fat dairy products, farm eggs, herbs, spices, and pure water. Lean meat, poultry and fish are optional.

This easy-to-understand and inspirational book is an invaluable resource for those wanting to learn every aspect of the basics of eating and healing through whole foods. It contains information about following the Perfectly Whole Foods diet, a Mostly (liberal) Whole Foods Diet, recipes, adapting your diet to address candida, food allergies/sensitivities, the soft diet, and weight loss. It also has references for knowing if foods, additives, and brand name products are included as part of the Perfectly Whole Foods Diet. This reference and cooking guide can help you: improve your health, prevent disease, lose excess weight, discover food allergy alternatives, feel better than you have in years, and learn easy cooking techniques. If your doctor has recommended that you improve your diet by eliminating sugar and white flour, by increasing unrefined complex carbohydrates, or by eliminating harmful fats, then this book may be just what the doctor ordered!

About the author:

Beth Loiselle is a former patient of Walt Stoll, M.D., who developed the Perfect Whole Foods Diet for his patients. She is a Registered Dietitian who, when she went to Dr. Stoll, was eating what her education trained her to believe was a good diet, but was not feeling well. She was quite surprised when she discovered that her extreme fatigue and other symptoms were not due to having two young children, but rather to what she had been eating! By following Dr. Stoll's advice, she became exuberantly healthy and then went on to write The Healing Power of Whole Foods. Beth received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee in Foods Science and Institution Management and is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian.
